Dr Adam Gordon MBBS, MD, FRACP, AGAF
Adam Gordon is a specialist gastroenterologist who is based in Moorabbin (main rooms at 999 Nepean Hwy) and works at several other locations in the Bayside area including Holmesglen Private Hospital (Moorabbin), Chesterville Day Hospital (Cheltenham) and Linacre Private Hospital (Hampton).
Adam completed his Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery at Monash University in 1997 with honours, and completed his advanced training in gastroenterology at The Alfred Hospital in 2006. Adam completed his MD degree (Doctor of Medicine) at Monash University in 2009.
Adam was a member of the senior medical staff at The Alfred Hospital for 15 years. He was also involved in teaching and research at The Alfred Hospital in his role of an adjunct senior lecturer at Monash University Medical School.
Adam is the Chair and past Secretary, of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) Private Practice Network. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP), and a Fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA).
Adam was the inaugural Head of the Gastroenterology Craft Group at Holmesglen Private Hospital, and he chairs that hospital's multidisciplinary Gastrointestinal cancer meeting (a regular meeting of gastroenterologists, surgeons, oncologists, pathologists, and radiologists to ensure the best management of patients with gastrointestinal cancers).
Adam has a special interest in bowel cancer screening and has significant experience in this area. Adam is an endoscopist for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP), and he has served as a member of a working group for the National Bowel Cancer Screening Register.
Adam provides expert care in general gastroenterology and hepatology, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, and capsule endoscopy. Adam's training is recognized by the Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
